A Welcome from the Speaker…

Hello!

My name is Amanda Merkwae, and I am the Speaker of the Undergraduate Senate. I am honored and excited that you’re visiting this page and are interested in what the Senate and the Student Government, as a whole, is doing for you.

The Undergraduate Senate is a body of representatives elected by the student body each fall. During the year, the Senate passes legislation to advocate for change within our community; we work to ensure that these issues are ones that hit home with you, our constituents – housing and dining issues, academic concerns, student health, financial aid, gender neutral housing, and even sustainability efforts.

If you are interested in running for a seat, filling a vacancy, or just finding how we’re addressing the thoughts, concerns, and ideas of our student body, please feel free to e-mail me at .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address).  As the year progresses, I will update this page and the rest of the site with interesting initiatives, ideas, and thoughts that we are working on.

Best,

Amanda Merkwae
