Body Image

Breast Cancer
According to the American Cancer Society, the chance of developing invasive breast cancer at some time in a woman's life is about 1 in 8 (13% of women). Fortunately, death rates from breast cancer continue to decline. These decreases are believed to be the result of earlier detection through screening and increased awareness, as well as improved treatment.

The Breastival, our annual women's health and empowerment fair on the Quad, seeks to continue those gains - by making college women aware of the importance of prevention and early detection as well as by raising money for further research. Check it out on October 2, 2007!
