Dhara Nayyar (she/her/hers) is a senior majoring in Interdisciplinary Studies: Communications, Legal Institutions, Economics, and Government and minoring in Education Studies. She is originally from Chappaqua, a small town located in Westchester, New York. Dhara currently serves as a Senator for the Class of 2018 while also being on both the Committee on Greek & Athletic Student Life and the Committee on Campus Student Life. Last year, she worked in President Torriente's Cabinet as the Director of Fraternity and Sorority Life.
Dhara is heavily involved in campus, as a member of Delta Gamma, a teaching assistant for the Department of Government, and an alto in Pitches Be Trippin'. When not at school, you can find her interning at EMILY's List, reading while enjoying a cappuccino at Kramerbooks, or watching The Office on Netflix. Dhara is passionate about intersectional feminism, women's healthcare rights, and education policy. She hopes to make changes in this fields throughout her life, starting here at American University first.
