Liliana Ascencio is a rising senior in the college of arts and sciences studying public health with a minor in sociology. Her interests lie in improving access to reproductive health services, fostering health equity, and supporting education on hiv/ aids and sexual violence prevention. On campus, she is the co president of the students against sexual violence and has worked on peer education through the wellness center!
She is very excited to join the WI executive board as Breaking Grounds Monologues co-director. For the past two years she has been an actor in this project. This past year, she wrote piece on growing up in the US as a brown woman with co-director Swati Guin. She believes that theater and art are strong tools for political action. She hopes that this year breaking grounds will highlight the stories of black and brown women and femmes on our campus and be a space for everyone to share their stories!
