American University Student Government

Welcome!

Thanks for visiting the page. My name is Andrew MacCracken, a student in SPA and the Class of 2011.

I am very excited to lead the Undergraduate Senate this year and hope to make it a more efficient body than ever. I preside over the Senate’s weekly meetings and lead the body to pass legislation on issues that affect students at American. Once those bills and resolutions are passed, I advocate for their enactment with the University staff and administration, making sure we are working for you.

I started in the Undergraduate Senate representing SPA, serving on the Committee on Student Oversight and Accountability (Chair),  the Special Committee on the Budget (Clerk), and the Committee on Rules and Privileges (Acting-Clerk).

I brought issues before the Senate including Environmental Sustainability with the Presidents Climate Commitment, Civil Rights with Gender-Neutral Housing, and many bills aiming to streamline how SG works for you.

Please don’t hesitate to come to me with any questions, comments, or new issues you’d like to see addressed at AU.

Best,
