Apply to be a First-Year Fellow below!
The Kennedy Political Union (KPU) is the non-partisan, student-run, student-funded speakers bureau at American University. Since 1968, the KPU has been recognized as one of the premier college speakers bureaus in the United States. Our mission remains to bring the most politically relevant and interesting speakers to campus to engage the American University community and to focus on important issues from all ends of the political spectrum.
KPU is once again looking to accept incoming first-year students into our fellowship program. The KPU First Year Fellowship will give new students an opportunity to get exposed to the Kennedy Political Union, AU Student Government, and the campus community at-large during their first year. KPU First Year Fellows play a key role within KPU by assisting all staff when needed and working with other branches of AUSG and campus partners to provide quality programming to AU students, while also taking on individual projects and events to develop professional skills. The Director and Deputy Director of Operations work together to mentor the fellows.
