Senator Leela Najafi is a representative for the Class of 2020 and is the Vice Chairman of the Committee on Accessibility, Transparency, and Accountability. Leela is pursuing her bachelor's degree in Communications, Legal Institutions, Economics, and Government (CLEG). Leela is an editorial intern with CQ Roll Call and a member of the National Press Club. She has interned for the Senate Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs as well as for Congressman Jared Huffman. She has a particular interest in criminal justice reform and expanding educational opportunities to those less fortunate. On campus, Leela is a member of Delta Gamma and Phi Alpha Delta. As someone who really has enjoyed her time at AU, Leela hopes to use her position to create a greater experience for all members of the AU community.
