Wayne Rodriquez (He/Him/His) is a sophomore pursuing degrees in Political Science, and Public Relations & Strategic Communications, and is a member of the SPA Leadership Program.

Born and raised in Bridgeport, CT, Wayne has geared his work efforts towards the political field. First interning for Congressman Jim Himes in 2016, he was soon hired to become the campaign manager for a state representative’s campaign. From there he has contributed to various political campaigns, serving as field director for both state senate and gubernatorial races in CT. Wayne was also elected for a two-year term as a party delegate for the Connecticut Democratic Party, the youngest elected member in Bridgeport’s history.

On campus, Wayne currently serves as a Communications Coordinator for the SPA Leadership Program. He is part of the WIRC and AmeriMUNC staff and is a member of Democracy Matters and AU College Democrats. As a senator, his focus is on enhancing AU’s dining experience, protecting student workers’ rights, and increasing transparency. When he isn’t busy, he enjoys exploring the DMV area, taking photos, and hiking on local trails.
