Executive Branch
The Executive Branch comprises four elected undergraduate officers - President, Vice President, Secretary, and Comptroller - who collectively represent American University's nearly 8,000 undergraduate students. Each officer holds distinct responsibilities and oversees specific Cabinet departments while serving as an essential check on the Judicial and Legislative Branches.
The Executive Branch advocates for student interests at all levels of university governance, from administration to the Board of Trustees. Its work encompasses academic affairs, financial aid, diversity and inclusion initiatives, and support for student-led programs. The branch maintains policy oversight while amplifying student voices and addressing campus-wide concerns to foster institutional progress.
