Access & Accommodations Department

    1. Complete and return the Student Accommodations Questionnaire (SAQ).

    2. Submit documentation of your disability. See the guidelines below. (Documentation may be uploaded as part of Step 1.)

    3. You will be assigned a Disability Access Advisor who will review your documentation and contact you at your AU student email when it is time to schedule your intake appointment or additional materials are needed. Documentation review typically takes 1-2 weeks; however, review may be longer during high volume times, such as the summer months.

  • To initiate a formal reconsideration, the student must submit a written reconsideration request to the Director of Disability Support within fifteen (15) business days of the alleged denial. The written reconsideration request should include:

    1. Student’s Name and AUID number;

    2. The specific accommodation issue that is the subject of the reconsideration request;

    3. A clear and detailed statement as to why a reconsideration is necessary, including the facts on which the reconsideration is based;

    4. Any supporting information and documentation; and

    5. The resolution requested.
